WINTER RESILIENCE PROJECTS 2026–2027

Winter Resilience Hubs 2026–2027

Last year, we launched four resilience hubs in Kyiv and the Kyiv region for the first time. The initiative delivered strong results, with more than 19,000 visits recorded.

This year, with the support of district administration heads, we plan to continue and expand the initiative. We are currently preparing to open more than 20 hubs, four of which have already been confirmed.

MHPSS Support for Children in Bomb Shelters, 2026–2027

This original programme was successfully piloted last year. We produce origami sets featuring traditional Ukrainian patterns, along with activity books distributed by our volunteers in schools, bomb shelters and metro stations.

Origami-making helps reduce stress in children. This evidence-based approach gives them a calming activity, helps redirect their attention and eases anxiety. The initiative is championed by Kateryna Osadcha, who personally takes part in sessions with children.

Team management

UHI has brought together a highly experienced team with strong humanitarian response expertise and the technical capacity to deliver winter resilience projects—from piloting four hubs to scaling the initiative into a network of more than 20 hubs this winter.
